The Louisiana Percent for Art Program seeks qualifications from professional artists and artist teams for an interior public art commission at the new School of Nursing & Allied Health Addition at Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO).
The School of Nursing is grounded in a mission to lead trauma-informed, equity-driven nursing education that transforms underserved communities through innovative systems, sustainable growth, and intentional leadership. The facility will support the next generation of healthcare professionals while serving as a visible investment in healthcare education and workforce development in New Orleans.
The selection committee seeks an interior artwork that enhances the building's public spaces while reflecting the values and mission of the School of Nursing. The artwork should support themes of resilience, healing, community, leadership, and healthcare equity while creating a meaningful experience for students, faculty, and visitors.
Potential locations include prominent interior public areas such as the main lobby, student gathering spaces, lecture areas, circulation corridors, and the area surrounding the social stair. Final artwork location will be determined in collaboration with the selection committee.
This is a Request for Qualifications. Proposals are not required at this stage.
